Welcome to 3’s Preschool!!
Here are just a few reminders and some information that you might find helpful as we begin this new year of learning together.
Parent-Child Orientation Day Thurs.,9/1- AM 8:00-9:00
Teddy Bear and Me Day Tues., 9/6- AM 8:00-9:00
Your child may bring his/her favorite stuffed animal to school on this day.
First FULL Day of Preschool Thurs.,9/8- AM 7:45-10:45
*Please note time change. Snack needed on our first full day.
You must walk your child into the preschool foyer,……
but PLEASE DO NOT walk your child into the classroom.
Say your goodbyes and let us handle the rest. WE will call you if we need to. We promise.
BOOKBAGS- You should have received a CTT Preschool book bag for your child at Back to School Night. Please write your child’s name and help him/her decorate the bag with patches, fabric paint, sequins,…have fun!!! Please have your child bring his/her book bag to school every day beginning on the first day of school.
UNIFORMS- Should be worn everyday beginning with our Orientation Day.
SNACK BAGS
You will need to purchase a snack bag for your child to carry his/her snack to school for each class. Any kind of bag is fine. Please remember that we will learn how to open and close (ZIPPER/SNAP) our own bags at snack time. Please choose a bag that won’t be too difficult for your child to manipulate. Have fun letting your child choose his/her favorite character bag! Please begin sending snack to school on our first full day of school.
*Please be sure to let us know in writing if your child has any FOOD ALLERGIES.
drop off / PICK UP time
Preschool TIME: AM @ 7:45 - 10:45
Please note that when you drop off your child inside the preschool foyer, your child should hang up his/her jacket and book bag on the assigned coat hook and place his/her snack bag in the snack bin located near the door. Please be sure to put your child’s TAKE HOME FOLDER in the bin on the windowsill. We will dismiss out of the same Preschool Door.
PLEASE DO NOT walk your child into the classroom-
It will make separation much easier if your child learns to walk in to the classroom with their preschool friends. Beginning in October, we welcome you to come into the classroom as a visitor/volunteer. Please see us for details.
**PLEASE BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE SECURED YOUR CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK. you should have received information about this at registration time. you must have this IF YOU ARE NEW TO OUR SCHOOL AND ARE PLANNING TO HELP IN THE CLASSROOM OR ATTEND FIELD TRIPS WITH THE CHILDREN. PLEASE TAKE CARE OF THIS ASAP. OUR FIRST FIELD TRIP IS IN OCTOBER.
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING IN PRESCHOOL
Please check:
1.Your child’s take home folder.
2.Your email. I will email you our calendar/newsletter each month.
3. Our Preschool bulletin board which is located in the preschool foyer. Here you will find important Preschool information, our monthly calendar, and “Help Wanted” cards when we need your help with special activities.
4.Sr. Laverne sends out a CTTCS Email Newsletter each week. You will find important CTTCS news and activities. Please read carefully, as sometimes information may only pertain to Grades K-8. If you are unsure, please ask us.
COMMUNICATION
Always remember that if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. I can be reached by dropping a note into your child’s take home folder, you can talk with me at dismissal time, you can e-mail me @ [email protected]. If you need to get in touch with me right away, you can call the school office @ 838-8850.
** Please continue to notify the school office if your child will be absent from school. You must also send an absence note when your child returns to school.
The CHRIST THE TEACHER HANDBOOK is available online @ www.christtheteacher.org Please take the time to read through this, especially the section on volunteering.
YOUR CHILD WILL NEED TO BRING TO SCHOOL:
1-A DAILY TAKE HOME FOLDER
Your child will need to have a folder to use as a take home folder. You may purchase any kind of folder that your child likes. Please label your child’s name on the upper right corner in large letters. We will use this folder to send any important school information home to you each day.
2-A SNACK BAG (lunch tote)
The students will need to bring a simple snack/napkin to school each day unless otherwise noted on the calendar. CTTCS provides a choice of milk, choc milk or water bottles for Preschool.
We do not need to bring snack on party days.
3-PLEASE KEEP A CHANGE OF CLOTHING IN A ZIPLOCK BAGGIE IN YOUR CHILD’S BOOKBAG. (an outfit , and socks-does not need to be uniform clothing)If a bathroom accident or spill occurs, we will help your child change and will send soiled clothing home in the baggie.
Please remember to put your child’s name on EVERYTHING that he/she brings to school.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL:
1- IN DIAPERS, OR PULL UPS-All children should be coming to school wearing big kid underpants.
2-WITH TOYS FROM HOME-(except on designated days). We have LOTS of toys and games and do not want your toys to become misplaced in our classroom.
We are need of a few items for our classroom:
1. YOU !!!
Please let us know if you wish to help as a HOMEROOM PARENT TO HELP WITH OUR PARTIES/SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS. We would LOVE to have a Homeroom Parent from each class. You must have background checks completed prior to volunteering in the classroom or on field trips.
We also will be asking each family to help us with our parties by sending in food, supplies and prizes for our parties throughout the school year. We will have information and a sign up on our class bulletin board as we get closer to the party dates. Our first party will be our Halloween Party and Parade in October.
2. Large or small Ziplock baggies, box of tissues, or a package of baby wipes or Clorox wipes.
3. 2 PHOTOS
If you have not already done so, we need 2 photos of your child to use for labeling classroom items.
4. JUNK-“Your trash is our treasure”
We need clean, microwave trays (ie. Lean Cuisine), yogurt cups, paper-any kind for art projects, old buttons, beads, etc…

PLEASE RETURN TO SCHOOL:
- Release Authorization Form-You have been given a Student Release Form which you must fill out and return to us. This form indicates those persons who have permission to pick up your child from school. Please also jot us a note to let us know of any changes in your child’s regular pick up routine.
